Things to Do in the Columbia Gorge

The Columbia Gorge is a wonderful location not just for us locals but for visitors, tourist and guest alike. There is always something fun happening no matter what the season is. In the winter we have skiing at Mt. Hood and in the summer there's the Columbia River with everything you could possibly want to do on the water available for you.


Columbia Gorge Wineries and Wine Valley

Multnomah Falls

This glorious falls is only 20 minutes West of Stevenson Washington on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.  With cascading drops of 542 feet  Multnomah falls is something not to be missed. View from a distance or from the 45 foot long long Benson Bridge.

The Sternwheeler

Located in Cascade Locks, the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler offers riverboat cruises aboard an authentic triple deck paddle wheeler. The Sternwheeler is the ultimate getaway to view the Columbia river gorge. Meal cruises and sightseeing excursions are available.

Crown Point and Vista House

Located 733 feet above the Columiba river, the Vista house offers beautiful views of the National Scenic area.The Vista House was built on Crown Point in 1916 as a memorial to Oregon Pioneers and as a comfort station for those  traveling on the Historic Columbia River Highway. Open to visitors year round this is quite a site to behold.

Hiking and Nature Trails

Over 350 miles of trails dot the Columbia Gorge and are suitable for a variety of skill levels. From trecherous hikes up mountains to leisurely strolls along the banks of the river, there is something for everyone when hiking along the Columbia Gorge.  Pack a lunch and a camera and discover the beauty this National Scenic Area has to offer.

Fishing

The Columbia River and surrounding waterways offer a variety of fishing adventures. Trout, Bass, Salmon, and Sturgeon can all be found in the river. Tours and many local charters are also available.
